About Connie Henry MBE, founder of Behind The Brilliance

Connie is a former international triple jumper who won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1998.

In 2007, she set up Track Academy to help disadvantaged young people in the London borough of Brent to improve their lives.

In 2019, the invaluable work of Track Academy was the primary feature on an ITV documentary called Run For Your Life.

Her network of close associates include sporting legends Lord Sebastian Coe, Dame Kelly Holmes and Daley Thompson CBE.

Connie was honoured with the Best Values For Community Support prize at the World Sports Legends Awards in 2019.

Connie was awarded an MBE for her Charitable Services to Young People through Sports and Education in 2022.
Connie was one of just 200 people from the Honours List chosen to go to the Queen’s funeral at Westminster Abbey.
Connie was presented with her MBE from King Charles III in an investiture at Windsor Castle in February 2023.

In 2024 Connie was appointed as Non Executive Director of England Athletics
